We can help you publish cover songs, but songs with samples may not be approved or may require a request for additional information.
What is the difference between sampling and cover songs?
Cover song
A cover song is a song that you performed and recorded yourself, but the music was written by someone else. That's perfectly fine, and we can help you get a license.
Sampling
Sampling means using the actual recording of another artist's performance. For example, if you use the actual original recording of Ariana Grande's "Dangerous Woman" as a backtrack, it is usually not allowed without written permission and clearance.
Clearance is possible, but difficult for smaller artists and can be a costly process.
Songs with unauthorized samples may be subject to legal action. To avoid legal issues with your releases, make sure you only distribute songs that you own the rights to or have clearance for.
If you are unsure whether your song contains a sample, feel free to email our support team for assistance.
