We give you the opportunity to send your song to all major editorial teams using playlist pitching and the extended pitch from H&S Core 2.1.
We tried for a long time to get into editorial playlists, the highest level of playlists, and noticed a few things that could help you.
1. All platforms, including Spotify and Apple Music, only include songs in their playlists that meet or even exceed the industry standard. Self-produced songs without professional mixing and mastering basically have absolutely no chance of making it onto these playlists.
2. The editorial teams pay close attention to your social media presence. Blurry images, videos with watermarks or an unprofessional appearance generally lead to the editorial teams foregoing placement in order to preserve their good reputation.
3. You can improve your chances of getting onto such playlists by supporting the platform-specific formats and maintaining your profile. On Spotify, you can upload canvas, keep images and the recommendation up to date, design the bio professionally and attach your own playlist to the profile. On Apple Music, you can use the exclusive formats like Dolby Atmos and Apple Digital Masters, add motion art to your release and keep the profile picture up to date and professional.
4. Don't forget that tens of thousands of songs are released on Spotify every week, all of which could be included in playlists. So try to make your songs stand out and think of a good story to include in your pitch, even if the chances are slim.
